Wings of Play // 2026
Mixed media interactive light installation installed at FIFA 2026 Vancouver headquarters in Bentall Centre, produced in collaboration with Mike St-Jean.
The work brings together interactive light sculptures and vinyl-printed digital artworks to explore play, connection, and collective experience in public space.
At the center of the installation are Social Butterfly, a series of soft sculptural light forms that respond to movement and proximity in real time. Using embedded sensors and programmed LEDs, the sculptures shift from slow ambient pulsing in stillness to increasingly dynamic, responsive light as visitors approach, encouraging physical interaction and shared presence between strangers.
Surrounding the sculptures, large-scale printed digital works extend this language of interaction into 2D space, reflecting themes of femme alien biotechnology and speculative futurism. Together, the layers of light and image create a dialogue between physical and visual play, inviting visitors to move through the space with curiosity and engagement.
Exhibiting at Bentall Centre May 4-July 31 2026, curated by Ashlee Conery.
Digital Artwork: created in Blender.
